1. General

1.1. This Privacy Policy (Policy) applies to Design Dundee Limited, a company registered in Scotland (Company No. SC370598), and the owner and operator of www.vandadundee.org. Our office address is V&A Museum of Design Dundee, Enterprise House, 3 Greenmarket, Dundee, Scotland DD1 4QB.

1.2. Design Dundee Limited shall only use your personal information in accordance with this Policy and relevant data protection laws, including the Data Protection Act 1998. We are registered as a data controller with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. Our registration number is Z2806090.

1.3. We reserve the right to change this Policy from time to time. The Policy applicable to your use of our website at any given time will be the version that is currently displayed. It is your responsibility to check the Policy on our website.

1.4. It is important that the information we hold about you is accurate, therefore please let us know of any changes to the personal information you give to us. Please also get in touch if you wish to know what personal information we hold about you (“data subject access requests”) (N.B. there may be a small administrative charge of £10 to respond to any data subject access requests). 2. Information we may receive about you

2.1. Information you provide when you join our mailing list. This includes information such as your name, email, phone number, mobile, profession and address. We may also ask you for information if you contact us.

2.2. Information you provide when you donate online. Our donation facility is provided by Charity Checkout. www.charitycheckout.co.uk is a site operated by Online Giving Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 06886190, registered office at Business & Technology Centre, Bessemer Drive, Stevenage, Herts, SG1 2DX, UK. All donations made through Charity Checkout are securely encrypted and processed using SSL with a minimum 128-bit encryption and firewalls. Charity Checkout hosts the payment pages on PCI DSS Level 1 compliant servers, the highest level of security. 2.3. Details of your visits to our website. This information includes traffic data, location data, web logs, and other communication data, and what resources you use on our website when you visit. We receive this information through cookies (see below).

2.4. Information about your computer. This may include your IP address, browser type and operating system, for system administration and to report aggregate information. This is statistical data about your browsing actions and patterns, and does not identify you as an individual.

2.5. Other information provided through cookies. Our website uses cookies to provide you with a good user experience as you move through our website.

 

3. Use of your personal information

3.1. We use the information we hold about you to ensure our website is properly maintained and operated; to ensure our website content is presented to you in an effective manner; to provide you with information that you request; to understand website usage; to keep records of any donations made to the campaign to fund V&A Museum of Design Dundee or any correspondence you send to us; to send you information for the purposes of fundraising for and for marketing about V&A Museum of Design Dundee ; and to comply with our legal obligations.

3.2. We will keep your information for a reasonable period for the above purposes. Once your personal information is no longer required, or on receipt of any request from you, we will delete it from our records in a secure manner.

3.3. If you do not want to receive marketing information from us or our partner organisation Dundee Museums Foundation (see paragraph 6.1.1), you can opt out of this at the time of approving this Policy and each time you receive marketing material from us or Dundee Museums Foundation thereafter.

 

4. Our use of cookies

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device. In general, we use:

4.1. Temporary, ‘session’ cookies to help you navigate through our website and to enhance your user experience. These cookies are temporary and disappear when you close your browser.

4.2. Analytics cookies to recognise and count visits to our website, how visitors use our website and how they get to the website. This information is used to help improve the website and services provided. Information collected in this way does not personally identify you.

4.3. Third Party cookies may be set by social media tools or other external applications if you are a user of those services.

 

5. Other websites and web applications

Our website may contain links to third party websites or applications. Our privacy policy does not govern these websites or applications. These applications are owned and operated by third parties, and are governed by their own specific terms. We will not accept responsibility for third party applications or for any loss or damage arising from your use of them.

 

6. Disclosure of your information

6.1. Design Dundee Limited will share your personal information with:

6.1.1. Dundee Museums Foundation; a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation , registered Scottish Charity No: SC043889, registered office address 34 Reform Street, Dundee , DD1 1RJ, strictly for the purposes of record keeping, if you have made any donations and for marketing and fundraising for the V&A Museum of Design Dundee. Dundee Museums Foundation will not share your personal information with any third party and will remove your personal information from its records either on request by you (except in relation to donations) or once no longer required, whichever is the earlier.

6.1.2. Third party data processors for the purpose of distributing marketing materials. Where we do this, we will always ensure the third party organisation enters into a suitable data processing agreement to ensure your personal information will be processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

6.2. We may disclose your personal information if we are under a legal obligation to do so.

6.3. If we go through a period of transition that involves selling or buying any business or assets, we may disclose your personal information to the prospective seller or buyer. If we or all of our assets are acquired, the data we hold on our marketing database may be one of the transferred assets.

6.4. Other than as set out in this Policy, we will not otherwise disclose your personal information to third parties without asking your permission first or without a legally valid request (except when we believe in good faith that the disclosure of information is necessary).

 

7. Storage of your information

All information you provide to us is stored on secure servers based in the UK and is not transferred outside the EEA. The transmission of information via the Internet, unfortunately, is not completely secure, and any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to help prevent unauthorised access.
